V Residence Apartment Building in Limassol, Cyprus was designed to house a growing family.
The brief was to design a minimal apartment building with simple volumes that would clearly differentiate the internal uses of the space. The circulation core and the verandas have been cast in concrete while the main apartment spaces are created from insulated brick. This provides the contrast required while also allowing for the interior spaces of the building to be thermally insulated.
The ground, first and second floors are three bedroom floor-through apartments. Each of these apartments is 175m 2 and has open plan layouts with large 34m 2 verandas, running the entire length of the living areas, with unabstracted views to the Mediterranean Sea. The fourth floor has received a building license to become a two bedroom floor-through apartment of 115m 2 with 34m 2 covered balcony and 40m 2 roof garden.
The basement of the building houses common spaces that all the apartments can utilize as well as the parking areas.
