Primo Posto Court – This apartment building was designed for a developer in Limassol, Cyprus.
The brief was to design a cost-effective minimal apartment building that would allow for the complete utilization of the plots allocated square meters in the maximum number of units.
The outcome was eleven apartments, distributed over three floors. The ground floor is exclusively used for storage and parking spaces while the three floors above are occupied by the apartments. There are five one bedroom, five two bedroom and one three bedroom apartments.
To meet the brief and create a building that would be cost-effective and simple to construct, the building was divided horizontally into four apartments. This was then stacked for the second and third floor. On the third floor two apartments were jointed to create the three bedroom apartment. These stacked apartments were then created into vertical volumes.
To allow for differences in the volume heights, the covered mechanical area was stacked above a two bedroom apartment and a roof garden was stacked above the master bedroom of the three bedroom apartment.
Due to budget constraints the volumes are differentiated by colour rather than materiality.
